Why do Syllabus offer SEO Training Attendance Certification rather than SEO Certification?
At present, there is no formal qualification for SEO´s nor is there any governing body overseeing the industry in the UK or anywhere in the world. Also, search engines are highly secretive about their algorithms making it impossible to evaluate every ranking factor or how each factor is weighted.
What was a normal, white hat, SEO practice yesterday may be seen as damaging or even unethical tomorrow. SEO is a moving target, a certificate from 2 years ago would be worthless today given how things have changed. SEO changes far too quickly for anyone to develop a testing and certification program that could cover anything other than the absolute basics.
Unless SEO certification, or any certification, comes from a recognised education authority or institute it has limited worth in the academic sense.
